November 20: Motherly Love

While we would never take for granted a father’s love, there are just some times when we need to and want to go to our moms! 

If anyone wants to hear “motherly” things about God, we should go straight to Julian of Norwich (14th century mystic). Here’s a sample: “I saw that God is to us everything that is good and comforting for our help. God is our clothing, who wraps and enfolds us for love, embraces us and shelters us, surrounds us for love, which is so tender that God will never desert us.”
