May 26: May He Rest In Peace

We are saddened at the news that our former Archbishop, John G. Vlazny, has died. To say that he will be missed is a great understatement.

O God, always ready to grant mercy and peace, we pray for all of our deceased loved ones, especially our Archbishop Emeritus John Vlazny, called into your presence. Grant them a place in our true home. Grant also that we will be sustained by your hope and protection all our days. We ask this through Christ your Son, who lives and reigns with you forever and ever. Amen.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen. And may the Lord, in His love and mercy, grant his family, friends, loved ones – and us all – His consolation and peace. Amen.
