June 2: Merciful Love / Amor Misericordioso

“The power of Easter has burst upon us with the Resurrection and Ascension of Christ. Now we can find in ourselves a strength which is not our own, and which is freely given to us whenever we need it, raising us above the Law, giving us a new law which is hidden in Christ: the law of His merciful love for us. Now we no longer strive to be good because we have to or because it is a duty. We do good because our joy is to please Him who has given us all of His love! Now our life is full of meaning, if we allow it to be....” Thomas Merton

Let us pray. “Lord our God, we have much to learn about your love. Continue, in your mysterious wisdom, to send ‘Easter moments of grace’ our way, moments that will remind us of the compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience to which we are called. Make us an Easter people, always ready to sing your praises, through Christ your Son, who lives and reigns with you forever and ever. Amen.”

Cuando Cristo murió en la Cruz y Resucitó, el mundo cambió: la muerte y el pecado fueron derrotados. Pero todavía tenemos que hacer esto realidad hoy en día. La justicia y el amor tienen todavía que triunfar en nosotros hoy. Que el Espíritu Santo nos comprometa a trabajar incansablemente por ello.
